You are not expected to form perfect sentences yet. Elya gives you the first words you actually need.
Elya turns language learning into a living conversation — voices that answer, stories that read back, pronunciation you can actually see, and a path that begins exactly where you are.
A few of Elya’s screens live inside the heart — a glimpse, not the whole app. Touch it and the interface opens around you. Choose one to bring it forward; touch it again and the next takes its place.
Elya does not pretend a complete beginner is already A1. The path starts at A0 and grows with you — from recognising a handful of useful words to expressing complex ideas naturally.
You are not expected to form perfect sentences yet. Elya gives you the first words you actually need.
You begin combining what you know instead of selecting isolated vocabulary.
Shopping, directions, appointments and the conversations that make daily life work.
You can describe experiences, plans, preferences and reasons without reducing everything to textbook phrases.
Hypotheticals, detail, disagreement and idiomatic language begin to feel natural.
You can shift between formal, casual, subtle and precise language depending on the situation.
The language is no longer the subject of the conversation. It is simply the language you are using to have it.
Most apps stop where a language gets interesting. Elya is a structured course from A0 to C2: it starts before the first word and keeps going until you can write an essay, argue a point and read the classics in the original. This is exactly what you will find.
If you know nothing, just say so: no test to fail, and nobody pretending you are already A1. Elya starts from the first words you actually need.
Every lesson pairs conversation with reading. You talk with your tutor and play out everyday situations, such as ordering, travelling or meeting people, at your level, with the grammar and the words inside. And you read: stories and texts for your level, which bring local idioms, nuances and ideas for how to speak and write, and which you can talk over with your tutor. You learn the standard language; dialects and slang come as culture, so you understand them when you hear them.
Pinyin, Jyutping, Japanese readings, Korean and Hindi romanisation, Arabic and Russian transliteration: the reading sits under each word. Even the lines in Taiwanese Hokkien carry their real pronunciation.
Bring your essay: typed, from Word or PDF, or a photo of the page. Every real error with your exact words, a better version and a short why. Then cohesion, register and hedging. Then your text improved, keeping your ideas, and a second draft you write yourself.
IELTS-style writing tasks, and articles to read and discuss with your tutor. The feedback is in words, never a band score.
A corrected text or an article from your tutor can be saved in your gallery with the tutor’s own voice. Read it and listen to it as many times as you like, offline and with headphones. Elya asks before saving, and tells you that in the chat the voice only lasts an hour.
Say the sentence and see how it went, then hear it again from a voice with the accent you are learning, not a different one.
Public-domain classics read aloud, each word lighting up as it is spoken. The words you save while reading come back in your conversations with the tutor.
Your tutor always corrects your grammar and your pronunciation, gently. Elya remembers your words, your level and what keeps tripping you up, and repeats what needs repeating. Your tutor decides when to move on, not a score.
The same tutor can teach you, or simply talk with you about anything in the language you are learning. The explanations arrive in your mother tongue.
No streaks, no points, no leaderboards, and never the word “wrong”. Nobody counting your days. Learning a language is not a race against yourself.
Alejandro corrects a short Spanish text: each real error struck through, the better version and why, your text improved, then a second version to write yourself.
A course is only half of it. Elya also gives you someone to talk to — and it explains everything in the language you already think in.
A full course from zero to C2, with your tutor and their voice.
About twenty companions who hold a real conversation — each with a profession of their own, and their own voice, the same in every language you speak with them.
Whatever you are learning, the explanation arrives in the language you already think in.
A lesson in English is no use to someone starting from zero in English.
Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes and many more classics, read by the voice you choose. Each word lights up as it is spoken, so you can follow at your own pace and never lose your place.
An app for learning languages by talking. Each of the 12 languages has its own AI tutor who speaks with you and gently corrects your speaking and your writing, inside a structured course from a true zero (A0) to C2. And if you just want to talk, around twenty-five companions will chat with you about anything.
Yes. Just say you know nothing: there is no test to fail. Elya starts from the first words you actually need, and in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi or Russian the reading sits under every word.
A real course. Lessons go from A0 to C2 and build the language the way children learn it: by talking, listening and reading. You talk with your tutor and play out everyday situations, like ordering food, travelling or meeting someone new, with the grammar and the words you need inside. And you read: stories and texts for your level, up to whole classic books, which bring local idioms, nuances, things to think about and ideas for how to speak and write. Your tutor remembers your words, your level and what keeps tripping you up, and brings them back until they stick.
Yes, always, and gently. Your tutor corrects your grammar as you talk or write, shows how your pronunciation sounded with a score for each word, and corrects your texts with every real error, a better version and a short why. It never uses the word “wrong”.
Yes. Turn on hands-free mode and you can talk with your tutor without touching the phone: you speak, the tutor answers aloud, then listens again. Good for walking, cooking or travelling.
Yes. A short level check, or simply telling your tutor you are starting from zero, sets where you begin. Then your tutor follows your level, remembers your words and what keeps tripping you up, brings them back until they stick, and decides when to move on, not a score.
Yes. The same tutor can simply talk with you about anything in the language you are learning, from your day to today’s news, up to academic topics. And around twenty-five companions are there to chat, each with a personality of their own.
Yes, in every way you can be immersed from a phone. You talk with a tutor who answers in the language, by voice or text, even hands-free, plays out everyday situations with you and corrects you gently. You read and listen to real stories and classic books, each word lighting up as it is spoken, in the variety you choose: Spain or Mexico, Brazil or Portugal, and more. You chat about anything with companions, in the language you are learning. And a structured course from A0 to C2 keeps it all in order, without pressure: explanations can stay in your mother tongue, or move to the language itself when you are ready.
Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, English, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hindi. The explanations can arrive in 19 mother tongues.
Yes, the more you practise. Elya follows the European levels from A1 to C2, the same ones used by IELTS and Cambridge for English, DELE for Spanish, DELF and DALF for French, the Goethe-Zertifikat for German, CILS and CELI for Italian and TORFL for Russian. Chinese, Japanese and Korean have scales of their own (HSK, JLPT, TOPIK), but the command of the language you build is the same. You can talk with your tutor about anything, up to academic level, and your speaking and writing are corrected as you go, so you express yourself better and gain real command of the language. Tell your tutor which exam you are preparing for, and you will practise with tasks in the style of that exam, spoken and written. Elya is not affiliated with any certificate provider.
The standard language. Dialects and slang come as culture, so you recognise them when you hear them, never in place of the language you need.
It was made with you in mind. No streaks, no points, no leaderboards, and never the word “wrong”. You can type instead of speaking, and your tutor moves on when you are ready, not when a score says so. You can also choose the text size, the OpenDyslexic typeface, and reading aloud with each word lighting up.
Everything is free for 7 days. After that, Elya is a subscription (Essential, Plus or Premium), and you can cancel at any time from Google Play.
